. . . All the Weather Issues Lately Might be Caused by the Moon?

Everything moves in cycles, so we are told.  There are many theories about why the world is undergoing so many tumultuous  weather events.  One is that the moon, the stars, the earth, the sun, and the weather are all interrelated.  Some people speculate that gravity, which is impacted by the pull of the moon, may be playing a part in the multitude of weather-related disasters throughout the world.               _____
Why now?  After all the moon has always been orbiting the earth.  Well, you have probably heard of a blue moon, and a harvest moon, but have you heard of a Super Moon?  As it turns out the orbit of the moon is not an exact circle.  The moon and the earth shift in relationship to the sun and so every 20 to 25 years the moon comes closer to earth than at any other time.
The moon did indeed travel the closest to the earth in some 19 years according to NASA on March 19th.  The celestial  visit resulted in confirmed  dramatically higher and lower ocean tides.  The same
happened in March of 1955, 1974, and 1995.  Each year was riddled with record numbers of significant weather events including deadly tornados.
The idea that the orbit of the moon contributes to significant changes in weather is controversial.  Many scientists believe the change in orbit has little impact other than a predictable change in tidal surge for a few days.  They give little credence to the Super Moon theory and consider the bad weather just before and just after to be coincidence.
Coincidence?  Who knows?  It is clear the world works in cycles, but just how no one really knows.  Are we having bad weather because of the pull of celestial bodies following their normal movement across the universe?  Is it global warming?  Is it part of some unknown and unrelated pattern?  We can take some comfort if the speculators are right since the moon is headed back into a more distant orbit. Many believe there is better weather ahead.
     What do you think?
